National Public Radio (NPR) has complied a “best of the best” of student podcasts on immigration from across America. It is no surprise that a podcast from several students at North Allegheny is included. After all, our district is one of the top in the county in terms of teaching quality, student engagement and academic excellence.
NPR released the podcasts today as part of an article titled, “Coming To America: Our Best Student Podcasts About Immigration.”
In the section “Foreign Natives,” NA eleventh-graders Somya Thakur, Sakeena Badrane, Meryem Marasli, and Grace Lee describe their experiences with being an immigrant family in America.
The project was completed with the help and guidance of student favorite Dave Morris. (SHOUT OUT TO MR. MORRIS!)
According to NPR, the students “delve into the feeling of being “stuck between two cultures.”
